Today we’re talking about tire chains for the Ventrac 4520. We’ve had chains as an option for a long time, but we’re excited to show a new chain setup that’s now available. This new option is designed for the standard Mountain Pro tires and only goes on the outer wheels, so you get some of the benefits of chains without having to change every tire on the tractor.

Chains aren’t about stability, they’re about traction. They help when the ground is loose, wet, or really challenging, and yes, some people use them in winter, but most of the time they’re for tough mowing jobs. The original tire and chain option works great for single or dual wheels and is necessary if you want to run single wheels on ice. The new option gives you flexibility. You can keep your standard tires, add the chains on the outer wheels, and swap setups without changing everything.

The chains are easy to install on all four corners, and while it takes a little time, it’s straightforward. You do want to make sure the chains are snug and properly tensioned so they don’t move around while you’re mowing. They aren’t meant for bar or turf tires, just the standard Mountain Pro tires.

Chains let you tune the tractor to the day’s job. You can adjust your setup based on the terrain, the moisture, or the attachment you’re using. Some days you’ll run them on all eight tires for maximum traction, some days just on the outer wheels, and sometimes you might not need them at all.

They also just look really cool while you’re mowing. They give the tractor a meaner, tougher appearance while helping it perform better in harsh conditions. Whether you’re working on steep slopes or overgrown areas, these chains give you more options and more control.

If you have questions about which chain setup is right for your 4520, check out the product page on our website, leave a comment, or give us a call. We’re happy to help you figure out what works best for your tractor and your terrain.
