The Ventrac Sidewalk Snow Vehicle is unique because it takes on a smaller form than most commercial equipment with a 34-inch machine width. It can easily fit on those narrow 36-inch sidewalks and all attachments are built with the same parameters in mind so that everything goes together seamlessly.

Features found on the operator’s platform include the ignition switch, USB 2.0 charging port, front headlights, rear work lights, and the gauge cluster. Viewing the gauge will easily show the operator hours in use, voltage, parking brake, and oil pressure. Drop spreader and/or brine system controls are located in the center of the operator’s platform, including the hand held nozzle for the brine and controls to regulate the flow of material.

On the right side of the operator’s platform is the throttle to control engine RPMs, PTO switch, 12-volt momentary, and pump for the brine system. Located next to that is the parking brake, hydraulic control, and choke lever. The two main drive levers feature offset controls which allow the operator to stay mostly centered and drive the machine while still using the hydraulic controls.

A design advantage on the SSV is the access doors on the side of the machine which allow for convenient servicing in a commercial environment. Behind the left side door is access to the hydraulic cooler, the pump stack, engine oil filter and dipstick, junction hoses for the brine system and various electrical components. On the right side is access to the battery, fuse panel and more electrical components. Also conveniently located inside the right door are several stickers that show basic maintenance protocols. On the back of the machine is access to the fuel tank for filling, the electronic circuit breaker for the whole machine and the hydraulic components.

The Ventrac SSV is a great addition to the fleet of any snow removal professional. It continually proves itself on the most challenging and narrow sidewalks which have always been a frustration for contractors. Sidewalk clearing has always relied on extensive hand labor and is just not an efficient or reliable way to get the job done. Up on the panel you have your gauge cluster then over here will be all your switches for lights. On the right side you have your throttle to control engine RPMs and your pto switch if you have that kit installed. This is your 12-volt momentary for use with attachments that have a 12-volt actuator. Over on your right is the parking brake. This control lever here is for your hydraulic control for attachments. This is your choke lever and these are your two main drive levers. If you have the drop spreader and/or the brine system those controls will be located in the center here. This is your electronic control for the drop spreader on and off and then the dial allows you to select a speed. Your brine system and your nozzles here for your hand wand and then to release the flow of material you can move this gray lever. The SSV is also laid out very well for servicing in a commercial environment. Opening the left side door gives you access to the hydraulic cooler the pump stack the engine oil filter and dipstick and some of the junction hoses and various electrical components. On the right side opening the door gives you access to the battery the fuse panel and the rest of your electrical components. The PTO kit is optional. An additional related option is weight transfer which we recommend for the heavier attachments. On the back of the machine you have access to your fuel tank for filling your electronic circuit breaker for the whole machine and your hydraulic components. Removing the operator's pad gives you further access. You have access to the hydraulic oil tank and fill nozzle and both filters for the hydraulic system. If you ever have to tow the unit you have to make sure to put the hydraulic system in neutral. To do that you pull these two black plugs and turn the hex head to the left.
