When most airports build the runway, they create a flat spot for the planes to take off and land, and because they manipulate the land around them, there is usually a drop-off and very steep hills around the runway. All of the steep areas around the runway are very easily managed by the Ventrac 4500 with dual wheels.To maintain these steep slopes, airports need equipment to handle these hills safely and still leave a high-quality cut. Airports have specific mowing needs because they have to keep the grass maintained for erosion control.
