https://www.ventrac.com/ Go behind the scenes with Mark, our Digital Marketing Producer as he travels to Buffalo, NY to catch some action on our Sidewalk Snow Vehicle. A 3 to 5-inch expected snowfall is the perfect condition for these commercial snow contractors to try out the SSV with Broom attachment for the first time.
The first location for some on-site demonstrating is a unique structure called the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome. Open year-round, it is important to keep these sidewalks clear not only for pedestrians but for the workers at the dome. The current snow contractor explains some troublesome areas at the dome where their current snow removal equipment is too large to fit. Reaching the tight areas of a dome structure and narrow sidewalks can be a challenge without the right tractor.
Next, they move on to an office complex where employees are coming and going during the snowfall and it’s necessary to keep the sidewalks clear and safe. When servicing businesses during operating hours, it is convenient that the SSV can maneuver with flexibility around parked vehicles.
Multi-tasking with the SSV allows the operator to save on labor and time while in the midst of a snowfall. Instead of shoveling sidewalks and then following up with salt application, the work is able to be combined into one swift action with the Broom and Drop Spreader.
A feature that is very accessible on the SSV Broom is the reverse action of the bristles that allows you to pull snow and debris away from a structure or doorstep without having to pick up a shovel. This application can even remove snow from tight sidewalks that have safety railings where larger equipment cannot fit.
This snowfall was the perfect event for these snow contractors to try a Ventrac SSV in action.
The Sidewalk Snow Vehicle allowed them to manage areas that previously required hand labor and walk-behind equipment and they were able to offer de-icing solutions while saving time and efficiency.

Video Transcript: Hey, guys, I'm Mark and today on Ventrac In Action we're gonna be showing you the SSV. So today we're working with our dealer up in Buffalo New York and they're doing a demo with a potential SSV customer. Now take note when you're watching this that this is the guy's first time operating the SSV. The salesman's gonna be explaining how to operate so it's gonna be a little bit of a different video shoot for you guys to see but should give you a good idea on how the Ventrac actually works for new customers. We're here at the Paddock Chevy golf dome in Buffalo New York. They have a restaurant they have some batting cages they do have an indoor driving range but today we're stuck outside. We're expecting about three to five inches of snow today and the temperature is right about 15 degrees so it's actually really nice for working with the broom. Now, these guys they are already a Ventrac customer they have a 4500 but there are a couple areas on site where they're not able to get bigger pieces of equipment so they're trying out the SSV for some specialty areas. You got the 18 1/2 cowie in there but your controls are easy your fuses are here you got your battery right there you get to a lot of cheat sheets. But we have a salt dropper between 80 and rounds of salt. There you know it's going to be that 34-inch drop we have a controller up here with five settings. Guys, now we're at the second demo location. As you can see this is kind of a business office complex area and they have lots of narrow sidewalks. It's only three to five inches today so people are still coming to work and so it's very important with them to maintain these sidewalks as with as little snow as possible on the ground. Be sure to LIKE comment subscribe and that way you can stay up-to-date on Ventrac equipment as well as the next location I end up in. See ya! Hey, guys we just finished getting shots of the SSV in Buffalo and we're on our way home now. If this is your first time watching the SSV in action we also have a blade as well as a snowblower. We did a couple video shoots earlier this year with those attachments so we'll go ahead and show you those now.
