https://www.ventrac.com/ Maui’s Best Golf Course Keeps Things BeautifulThe Resort and Golf Course at Kapalua offers scenery many people travel from around the world to see. One of the most important jobs is to keep the golf course looking beautiful so guests can appreciate all that Maui has to offer. At the golf course and across the resort, they use a Ventrac 4500 tractor and attachments to keep the grounds looking beautiful. We spoke with a worker in the Facilities and Maintenance Landscaping Department and the Director of Building and Facilities Maintenance. They shared how their use of the Contour and Tough Cut Mowers have helped save them time and labor costs in the different terrains that are native to Hawaii. At Kapalua Troon Golf Course, the terrain is very hilly with steep slopes, and the weather can often be wet and windy. A tractor with a light footprint allows them to maneuver around things without doing a lot of damage. It is noted when they use bigger machines, they end up doing more damage to their turf. When asked to describe the Ventrac, Noa thinks of stability because it is operated with hand-held controls, which are comfortable for him and leave him feeling in control of the machine. Noa reflects on how slope mowing in the common areas used to be done by several workers with string trimmers. Now they use one Ventrac to maintain the turf because they can mow up to 30 degrees in any direction without destroying the turf. The Tough Cut Mower is used on their sediment basins, where there is tall growth, and it handles the native grasses well. Other areas they maintain are along the highway and places of wild brush across the land. They use the Contour Mower, which is built for precision mowing on golf courses and resorts. It is unique in the way that three decks float independently and follow the contour of the terrain with up to 40 degrees of motion for each side deck. This ensures the best possible quality of cut while minimizing the scalping of the surface. The Stump Grinder is a large part of their operation as an island resort. They have had many trees that have become a problem in difficult areas, such as hillsides and banks. The stability of the Ventrac with dual wheels allows Noa to operate the Stump Grinder on the hillsides with ease while saving them the costs of paying to contract out those jobs. Ventrac allows Kapalua to be more efficient in how they utilize their labor, and they are no longer buying more machines than they need to do the jobs required at a resort of this caliber.Products featured in this video:VENTRAC 4500: https://www.ventrac.com/products/tractors/4500 KC180 STUMP GRINDER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/kc180 TOUGH CUT: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/hq680 MJ840 CONTOUR MOWER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/mj840 For more information, visit https://www.ventrac.com/ Find a dealer near you! https://www.ventrac.com/dealers Get a FREE catalog! https://www.ventrac.com/contact/catalog Subscribe here! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0aiC7V2JS3nh11R5tRuIUw Connect with Us!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ventrac/ Instagram - @ventrac_tractorsTwitter - @ventrac
