Video Transcript: I'm Aaron Graber with Ventrac and this is an introduction to the brand-new boom mower. The boom mower is the result of countless customer interactions where we were asked to provide an attachment to help maintain vegetation in difficult areas. Property managers have always had the problem that machines can only do so much. Where that capability stops, they have to rely on hand labor. The core purpose of the boom mower is to extend that capability of a machine to reduce the hand labor necessary. We are very excited to finally pull the curtain back on this attachment. We know it will help the end user to be as efficient as possible on their properties. We've been asked for it over and over again, we've built what we think is a great answer to those questions, and it's ready. The boom mower uses a double action sickle bar head with a 39-inch cut width. It reaches a max vertical height of 142 inches, and a max horizontal height of 115 inches measured away from the tractor from outside of single wheels. The cutter head itself has a 135-degree range of motion from 90 degrees straight up to 45 degrees below level. The cutter bar itself is also submersible which is great for cutting cattails or other vegetation below the water level. Being able to do this from 9 feet away on the seat of the tractor is clearly superior to wearing waders and standing in the water with a string trimmer. We chose the sickle bar on purpose because there were some clear and present advantages over other styles of cutting heads. With a double-action sickle bar, we are able to cut thick or woody vegetation while still being able to cut fine grass as well. It also is the lightest weight option which allows us to maximize our reach and cut length. It's the safest option for cutting vertically because the material falls directly to the ground instead of being thrown. Wet or unstable ground leads to the concern of turf disturbance. There are some boom mowers out there that are similar in size to this. The problem is they've usually mounted to the back fo a compact tractor. With the Ventrac, the boom mower is in the front and the dual wheels and low ground pressure of the machine safeguard the turf from being torn up while operating on hilly or wet conditions. When using the boom mower, the Ventrac 4500 is rated for hills up to 18 degrees when equipped with dual wheels. Which is incredible when you are still able to reach up to 9-feet from the tractor and cut. This amplifies the capabilities of the boom mower and sets it in a league of its own. It's designed specifically to be as easy to use as possible. The cutting head, maintaining its angle, helps minimize the inputs the operator has to give and the operator controls the movement via a single-handed operation. The most powerful distinction of the boom mower attachment is just that, it's an attachment. It doesn't render your tractor useless to other jobs. Some boom mowers are installed onto tractors and they stay there. With the Ventrac, when you're done, you can take it off, put another attachment on the machine, and get back to work doing something else.
