Ventrac at the Gateway Arch

The Gateway Arch towers over the city of St. Louis, a monument to western expansion. Standing at 630 feet, this stainless steel structure is a marvel of modern engineering. This past May, all seven Steiner brothers made a road trip to visit the Arch Grounds.The Steiner Brothers are no strangers to hard work and innovation. The seven brothers grew up on the family farm east of Orrville, Ohio watching their father, Marvin Steiner, build custom farm equipment. Following in their father's footsteps, the Steiner brothers have been designing and manufacturing products for the turf industry for over 35 years. In 1998, they launched Ventrac, a center articulating compact tractor with over 30 professional grade attachments to chose from and the ability to operate on steep slopes.
On this visit to the Arch Grounds, the Steiner's visited with the Gardener Supervisor, Jim Jacobs and his crew. The Gateway Arch uses three Ventrac 4000 series tractors to maintain their grounds. During mowing season, Jacobs and his grounds crew enjoy the beautiful cut and striping job provided by Ventrac and the ability to mow steep grades. In fact, their Standard Operating Procedures for mowing specifically states that the only mower authorized to mow around the ponds is a Ventrac.
The Gateway Arch also uses their Ventrac in all other seasons of the year. Besides mowing, their Ventrac tractors also take care of their snow and leaf removal as well as aeration and sidewalk maintenance.
At the Gateway Arch, the Steiner brothers admired the engineering marvels and quality workmanship of this massive national monument. As it turns out, the feelings are mutual.
