www.ventrac.com/snow : SnowBuddy is a non-profit organization located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In the city of Ann Arbor, homeowners are required by law to clear the sidewalk in front of their home every time it snows. Often times this duty was overlooked by residents. SnowBuddy founder, Paul Tinkerhess, saw a need for safe sidewalk transportation as he walked to and from work. He explains that sidewalks are a part of a system—a transportation corridor connecting many locations to one another. He realized the system and sole purpose of sidewalks are disturbed when homeowners do not clear the walkways. After much thought, Paul had the idea of purchasing a piece of equipment and maintaining the sidewalks with the donations from people in the neighborhood willing and able to give. With much success, SnowBuddy is heading into its fourth snow season with 2 Ventrac 4500 tractors, 2 cabs, 2 brooms, 2 salt spreaders, a blade, and snowblower. The machines are used by the 16 volunteers around the clock every time it snows. The Ventrac is the perfect size for maneuvering the sidewalks in an efficient way.

The SnowBuddy organization wishes to expand and raise awareness to other neighborhoods and cities.
