Maintaining a Macadamia Nut Farm

https://www.ventrac.com/ We first heard from David and Isabel Robinson after they had recently acquired a macadamia nut farm that was neglected for 5 years. They were excited to bring the land back to life with the help of their Ventrac 4500 and attachments.Two years later, we re-visit David and Isabel on their South Wales farm to hear about the progress they have made on their property. They are happy to report increasing yields and harvesting more than 30 ton of macadamia nuts this season. They are extremely pleased with the job the Ventrac has done for them in many applications.Macadamia nut orchards require a great deal of upkeep and work as David explains the eco-system involved with keeping his trees healthy and thriving. Overgrowth of brush and tall plants around and under the trees allows for an ideal habitat for rats, which in turn damage the macadamia crop. But with the Ventrac Tough Cut, they are able to keep the grass mowed short which allows for predators like snakes and owls to come in.David was also impressed with the Power Broom’s ability to sweep clean the orchard floor and contour around the trees to keep the tree roots covered. They also enjoyed the Aerator attachment which made caring for the ground effortless and in turn increased crop yields.Finally, David is most impressed by the Ventrac’s slope mowing capabilities on the steepest parts of his property.
