https://www.ventrac.com/ Ask any landscaper, there is nothing more clean and professional looking than a freshly edged sidewalk. This video showcases the many capabilities and adjustments to the Edger ED202 attachment. The Edger keeps labor costs low and efficiency up, allowing the operator to tackle miles of sidewalk, curbs and landscape beds with impressive accuracy. With the addition of the blower accessory, swiftly edge and clean up the debris in one pass. The Edger’s disc is located in the operator’s immediate line of sight, allowing full view and accuracy. With the unique ability to be angled and weighted according to differing ground conditions, the operator is in control of depth, width, and ultimate appearance. Tackle curbs and hard to reach places with an additional 12-inch extension on the disc. Simply reverse the disc to edge flower beds and gardens without the tiresome and strenuous work of hand-edging.Products featured in this video:Ventrac 4500: https://www.ventrac.com/products/tractors/4500 ED202 Edger: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/ed202 KA160 Blower: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/ka160 Find a dealer near you! https://www.ventrac.com/dealers Get a FREE catalog! https://www.ventrac.com/contact/catalog Subscribe here! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0aiC7V2JS3nh11R5tRuIUw Connect with Us!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ventrac/ Instagram - @ventrac_tractorsTwitter - @ventracVideo Transcript:The edger is an attachment that allows a single operator to tackle miles of sidewalks to keep them looking clean and professional without having to do it by hand. The Ventrac edger is very adaptable to allow users to tailor it to their specific needs. A 20-inch diameter steel disc can be set on either side of the tractor on the left or the right. It has a depth of up to six inches and that's adjusted by the caster wheel on the opposite side. The metal discs can also be flipped to maintain flowerbeds or garden areas. It also has the ability to be moved out up to 12 inches to extend the reach. It can also be angled in and out depending on the conditions. You can add an additional three weights to the front of the edger to help penetrate hard ground. This edger is outfitted with an optional blower. The blower is great if you want to edge and clean up the debris in one pass. Since the edger's in front of the tractor, the disc is in the operators immediate line of sight so it's easy to see and keep the back of the disc on the edge of the sidewalk while you're maintaining forward motion. The standard edger attaches to the tractor via the hitch arms only if you have the optional blower like this one does. You'll also attach with a belt driven PTO when attaching or detaching from the edger make sure that both kickstands located here and on the other side are in a position that allow the hitch arms to be level with the ground during operation. Make sure to move the kickstand up and out of the way. The edger works with no weights at all the conditions are right. The harder the conditions get the tougher the ground is the more weights you want to add. We always recommend adjusting the disc so that the leading edge has space between it and a sidewalk and the trailing edge is contacting the sidewalk. The more aggressive you get with that space the wider your edge line will be or the easier it will be to cope with hard ground conditions. We have a reference chart on this angle adjustment we recommend starting at position number five and working your way in either direction from there depending on your conditions. The cutting depth of the edger is controlled by the position of this caster wheel. With the edger parked on a flat surface and the disc touching the ground the distance between the bottom of this wheel and the ground is the cutting depth. This can be controlled in small amounts by threading or unthreading this top link or in larger amounts by changing the position of this bolt. The one adjustment that the blower has is the direction of the chute so that you can run the disk on the left or the right side. This helps when you're doing curbs or areas that are hard to get into with the tractor and the way to do that is to pull this pin and slide this tube out to the position you want it put the pin back in and go. When operating the edger make sure you always operate in a float position. You never want to operate with down pressure on the hitch arms because it creates unnecessary stress in that area. Also, you want to make sure that your weight transfer setting is on zero. What customers value most about the edger is the labor savings that it provides. This is great for cities, schools, parks, universities, anybody that has a long stretch of sidewalks to take care of, and is just generally concerned with keeping labor costs down and efficiency up. Thanks for watching this video on the Ventrac edger.
